VarDAR Vision, a cost -effective web inspection system dedicated to the blown film industry. Ensuring product quality and optimising process capabilities is of paramount importance when producing blown films. In simple terms, as the collapsed blown film travels down the tower to the winder, it runs over an ultra-high intensity light source that shines through the film, and being monitored by cameras that are above. By using optical transmission technology, Vardar Vision can pick up any light blocking defects in the film being produced.

The system is designed to provide 100% inspection and monitoring of the blown film  process , generate data, provide warning of  any film defects and plot location that can cause rejection or customer dissatisfaction. By differentiating and distinguishing the problems online instead of in the lab, it offers a quicker and more economical way of identifying defects and gather data, and store the information of any issues such as gels, blackspots, unmelts, shark skin, wrinkles folds, fish eyes and optical properties like haze, gloss and transparency in real time, which enables customers to effectively minimise waste and optimises production

The transmission method of web inspection is used for detecting defects which are “blocking” or “transmitting” light, such as gels, contaminations, holes…etc, on transparent and semi-transparent films.

A Surface defect solution can also be offered by VarDAR that monitors the process using optical reflection technology. Typical examples include bumps, scratches, folds, orange peels…etc.
